Rottweiler - Cash - Extra Large - Adult - Male - Dog
Meet the handsome fella CASH! Talk about a retriving machine! This is your guy! Tosses the ball back to you for another throw! He was brought into the shelter mid December by his owner who could no longer keep him. So sad for this sweet boy. It can be very hard on the animals to go from a home environment to a shelter setting with everything new. He was terrified and would growl/bark and when I first met him. I did not think he was friendly so I gave him some time to settle in and within 1 week he was eager to go out for a walk and some tlc. I think it was his way to get attention. He does not like for strangers to put their face in his face...so a home without young children would probably be best for Cash. Still can growl from the outside of his runner looking in at him but it is his way of saying please take me out to play. He is such a handsome fella...only 1 year old but he is big and strong. Cash went to two days of an adopt a thon and did great with everyone he met and did good with most of the other dogs there as well. Know that dogs are considered to be a pup until they are around 2 years old and that pups are great however they require love, time, patience, and consistent training on your part as the new owner. Make sure you are ready for "puppy hood". He walks well on the leash once he releases his pinned up energy and LOVES to play fetch with a tennis ball. Check out his video. He appears to be very well trained and his owner said he was house broken and good with dogs and even cats. If you are interested in any of these animals and have another dog please bring him or her to meet on neutral ground before adopting. Cash has so much love to give and once he knows you care he loves to get lot of body rubs and in return he will give you sweet cash kisses. Come to the shelter and visit with Cash and see what a wonderful fella he really is and give him a chance at a great life that he deserves and needs...a FOREVER home. He may bark and act up in his runner (typical for shelter dogs that are cooped up in a small run) but once you get him out and he has room to roam/play he is a different boy. We love all of our dogs and you must know if interested in adopting Cash there is special paper work you will need to get from the shelter manager, complete, and be approved prior to adopting. We want to make sure they go to homes best suited for them. Please know that 1 mosquito bite can create heart worms and they can be fatal if not treated. It is VERY important to keep your pets healthy and protected by keeping them on a once a month heart worm and flea/tick prevention. These animals are counting on you as their owner to provide them with lots a love and the proper health care so PLEASE make sure you are aware, commited, and prepared before adopting. Owning a pet is an extra expense and responsibility but is so worth every minute and penny you invest in them. They will add lots of joy and unconditional love if given a fair chance. Cash will make someone an amazing pet if given a fair chance. Stand by-pix to follow! The shelter is open Mon.-Fri. 10-1, 2-5 and on Sat. 10-2. Adopt a homeless pet and save a life. If you can not adopt right now come out and volunteer and make a difference in the lives of these animals while they await their FOREVER home.
